July 1, 2025 – Hsinchu, Taiwan - As 5G, IoT, satellite communications, and smart healthcare technologies continue to evolve, precision power measurement has become a vital capability across aerospace, defense, electronics, and telecommunications industries. Since 2008, Taiwan-based ACE Solution, a leading system integrator for wireless communications, has partnered with LadyBug Technologies, a U.S. pioneer in high-accuracy RF and microwave power sensors. LadyBug’s USB sensors support wide frequency coverage—from low to high bands, including Wi-Fi, 4G, and 5G—enabling reliable performance across a variety of testing environments.
In a recent interview, Jonny Hawkins, Vice President of R&D at LadyBug, shed light on the company’s technology roadmap and the growing opportunities in Asia.“Our sensors cover frequencies from 4 kHz to 75 GHz, and feature our patented No-Zero, No-Cal™ technology, which allows for precise measurement of average, peak, and pulse power—without the need for frequent zeroing or external calibration,” Hawkins explained. “This simplifies the workflow while maintaining accuracy and repeatability.”LadyBug sensors are calibrated to Tier 1 standards, traceable to the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and METAS in Switzerland, offering consistently high confidence in measurement results.
With an eye on the future, ACE and LadyBug are actively expanding into the ultra-high frequency and microwave market, covering frequencies from 77 GHz to 110 GHz. This range is crucial for applications such as automotive radar, satellite communication, and emerging 6G testing. “Point-to-point satellite systems like Starlink are increasingly leveraging the 80 GHz band to enable high-speed, low-latency data transmission,” said Jonny Hawkins. “The growth potential in this space is tremendous.”
In response to the growing demand for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing, LadyBug has also launched the LB5900 Series, which supports measurements down to 4 kHz—designed to meet the latest regulatory requirements.
As an RF system integrator, ACE Solution offers end-to-end support—from hardware and software to fixtures, instrumentation, and automation. LadyBug’s highly integrated, compact sensor designs are ideal for embedded test environments, helping reduce system size and improve throughput. Among the latest innovations is the LBSF09, currently the world’s smallest power sensor with traceable calibration. Designed for high-density setups, multiple units can be mounted in a 1U rack, optimizing valuable test bench space.
After nearly two decades of collaboration, ACE and LadyBug have built a strong foundation for continued success.“Asian markets—including Vietnam and Japan—hold tremendous potential in communications and semiconductor testing,” Hawkins added. “With ACE’s expert local support, we’re better positioned to understand and serve the needs of customers across the region.”Together, the two companies are set to expand their global footprint—delivering advanced, reliable power measurement solutions that drive next-generation technologies forward.
